We would be humbled to have you join us in celebrating our special day, where we transcend our relationship into the life long commitment and journey of marriage
Marcus first noticed Irma, working at the Four Seasons Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin
He asked her for her phone number and she said no. So he got it off her friend and work colleague Agna anyway. He phoned her 3 times to ask her on a date and after making excuses to say no for the first 2, she agreed to a date on his 3rd attempt
Marcus & Irma have their first date at the Cellar Restaurant in the Merrion Hotel, Dublin on June 2nd. The tables got turned and Irma fell instantly for Marcus's charm
After dating for 6 months, they agreed to make their relationship official on January 26th
They fall in love and Marcus makes a joke that he will propose to her before she turns 30. Irma is 22
They waste no time and Irma moves into Marcus's apartment in Ballinteer, Dublin
Irma meets Marcus's brothers and sisters and finally understands where the madness comes from
Irma's only sibling David, visits Irma in Dublin and gives his approval
Marcus visits Irma's hometown of Seta in Lithuania where Irma's extended family investigate his intentions
They go backpacking across Asia for 5 months and loved it so much, they decided to stay
Moved to Bangkok, Thailand to start a new life of adventure together
Move back to Ireland
After failing to agree what continent to live, they agree to take a 3 month break in their relationship. Irma Stays in Ireland and Marcus moves back to Thailand
Marcus lasts only 2 weeks into the break before running back to Ireland convincing Irma he will do anything to get her back. He promises to marry her one day
They move to Ubud, Bali and open a restaurant together. Phew, the stress. Oh, this is where they met 2 of Irma's bridesmaids, the lovely Mayla and Niamh. Irma waits for the proposal
They move back to Bangkok. Irma still waits for the proposal
Still in Bangkok and yes, you guessed it. Irma still waits for the proposal
Marcus's brother and sister in law, Henry and Moncia visits them in Thailand. Marcus tells Henry that he plans to propose to Irma just before midnight of June 12th when she turns 30, keeping his promise of 8 years before. They begin to plot the engagement
Marcus books the Carole Astor Suite at the St. Regis Hotel in Bangkok. All day, preparations are being made by a team of people. 6 florists work on the suite bedroom filling it wall to ceiling with beautiful floral creations. A string quartet sets up in the sitting room ready to welcome Irma to the room when she enters. A photographer waits hiding in the bathroom ready to pounce if she says 'yes'. Rose petals and candles lead the way from the hallway, pass the string quartet to the bedroom. The hotel's head bartender is on the ready with a bottle of champagne and an old Samurai sword used to cut the top neck of the bottle when she says 'yes'.
Marcus planned a pre-birthday dinner in the Japanese restaurant on the ground floor of the St. Regis Hotel. He hates Japanese food so it was a nice surprise for Irma's birthday as she loves it. After dinner they had a drink in the lobby bar and Marcus asked Irma can he go look at one of the hotel rooms before they go home. Because of Marcus's strange fixation with hotels, this was nothing unusual for Irma and is a common occurrence
